The computer based test comprises of : Technical, Verbal, Non-Verbal and Logical reasoning. The technical part comprises questions based on conceptual topics of the core subjects. The logical reasoning part is also easy you just need to be accurate in time. Do not rush with the questions, just make sure you attempt them right.
This round is a complete test of your presence of mind and verbal skills. There are chances that you might not be well versed with the topic given, for such situations be a patient listener give time to listen others. They might state some facts regarding the topic, which you might not be aware of. Don't panic or be in a hustle to state your views. Make your arguments loud enough by supporting it through relevant examples. Try keeping it short and straight forward.
It started with a basic introduction about myself and which subject I'm most interested in. They started with a few basic questions related to Testing of materials/ Engineering Physical Metallurgy. They were conceptual questions related to graphs and equilibrium diagrams. They asked me the significance of various points on the graphs. It is always better to turn close ended questions into an open ended question, as it is always easier to have a discussion on the problems and suggest a viable solution than to give a straight forward solution.
It is combined with the technical round itself. They basically judge your potential to manage your skills and the need. They generally do not go for a very high/low pointer, a multifaceted personality is what they are usually searching for. You should have something to talk about, some achievements/honours. Extra curricular activities/sports shows your involvement in other activities as well. Inshort, be confident and crisp. Present yourself as if you belong there. Keep your spirits high and your hopes higher! Label it with a smile!
