They formed groups for the hackathon and gave us a day to complete the project. We were asked to create a Dashboard based on which users would be able to analyze the sentiment of the specific stock. We were required to create an Analytical Server "OHLC" (Open/High/Low/Close) time series based on the ‘Stock List’ dataset which was provided in a separate JSON format and its output should be a timely report printed in Charts. Basically, we were asked to build a website(frontend) or Application for dashboards.
Total 6 projects were selected for ppt round. In the presentation round they asked us about the project like which software we used, then they asked us to show the whole code and asked the questions on frameworks and functions. They were mainly focussing on members' contributions towards the projects. They asked each of us about our contribution and knowledge to projects.
This round started with my introduction. The interviewer asked me about my interests in the coding and programming domain. Then he asked me about the software and language I am used to and then some questions regarding my projects and CV. Lastly, he asked me why I want to pursue my career in the IT field, as I am from the mechanical branch (Ps: This is the most common question any interviewer will ask for a non-core student). This was overall an easy round.
This was an easy round, started with my introduction. He asked me about my strength and weakness and then asked me what can I do to overcome my weaknesses. Then he asked that how I feel knowing that I am not gonna use my 4 years of core knowledge in the future journey. The interviewer was very friendly and the overall interview went smoothly with some more questions like "how I manage my schedule", "what are the things I do in my free time " and "what are my current positions of responsibilities?".
Be thorough about what you mention in your Resume. Wear your smile and confidence and try being calm and communicate well. It will be helpful if you prepare for HR questions (as they are pretty common) and some company archives questions.
