Round 1

Computer Based Test Interview

Time
90 mins
Difficulty
Medium
Interview Experience

The test consisted of 3 assessments, each consisting of MCQs based on Programming skills (including mainly BST, AVL Trees, Heap), Computer Science Knowledge on DBMS, OS, CN and Aptitude questions.
The main catch was to manage time as it was not enough to solve each question but no negative marking was a plus point.

Round 2

Technical Interview

Time
45 mins
Difficulty
Medium
Interview Experience

This round started with the interviewer asking me details about my summer internship like,"Why did I choose that internship/firm" and then proceeding to the questions based on my internship project. Questions related to real life situations were asked like, "How would you create an email system better than Gmail?".
Then, I was asked to code for finding the number of instances of a word present in the given paragraph (Main focus was on logic).
The interview ended with some basic HR questions like my aim and future plans. This round seemed to be a mixture of HR and Technical which was a little unexpected, so be prepared for such surprises.

Round 3

Technical Interview

Time
45 mins
Difficulty
Difficult
Interview Experience

As I had mentioned some python projects (like Character recognition) in my CV, questions related to those projects as well as Machine Learning were asked like, "what is considered as ideal number of hidden layers in a perceptron model and what factors determine the number of output neurons".
Then the focus of the interviewer shifted towards asking solutions to real life situations like caching a trained model in python for a web app so that the trained model need not be loaded every time the app is used.
Then I was asked a puzzle (jar with contaminated pills) and a simple physics question (finding distance between 2 balls thrown horizontally from top of the building at different speeds).
The interview came to conclusion after me asking the interviewer certain things that he liked and disliked(still required improvement) in the firm.
I was informed that there won’t be any further interviews and would let me know of the result later.

Additional

Other comments

It is not always possible to provide a correct answer to every question, rather, the interviewer is more interested in knowing our approach to reach a certain solution.
Also, be thorough with the projects mentioned in your CV and be confident in the solutions that you provide.
